  1. SMS Channel

As well as the standard service level rules, the sms channel has other configurable settings:

  • Maximum Message Length
  • Display only default for the maximum message length available (e.g. 160 characters).
  • Default Virtual Queue
  • Determines the default shortcode used for a site when sending outbound SMS messages.
  • Default Virtual Queue
  • Determines the default shortcode used for a site when sending outbound SMS messages.
  • Default Inbound Category
  • If the Platform Integration Enabled option under Admin > Core Config Console is selected, choose the default category that must be added to enable API integration for the channel.
  • This option is not available if the Platform Integration Enabled option is not selected.
  • For more information, see the section Platform Settings in the Multichannel Super User Manual.

In addition to service level information, Prefix rules are specified to ensure consistency across the Multichannel solution.  Prefix rules convert local mobile numbers to international formats.  For example in NZ a mobile number beginning with 021 would be converted to 6421, 02 would be converted to 642.

To add a new prefix rule simply click on the ‘Add Prefix Rule’ button.

  • Starts With
  • Enter the usual prefix e.g. 02
  • Replace With
  • Enter the replacement prefix e.g. 642

Once addition of the prefix numbers is complete, click on the ‘Save’ button, or click on ‘Close’ to exit the screen without saving.
